Car Donations
Don't deal with the hassle of trade-ins or trying to sell your car.
Take easy street and donate your car to Goodwill!
When you donate your car to Goodwill, you not only will receive a great tax deduction, but you will also help Goodwill's mission of putting people to work. The revenues gained from your car will help support employment services and programs for your community!
To donate your car:
1. Ensure that your car meets the following criteria:
- Title is in your name
- Paid for with no liens
- Title is with your state's Department of Motor Vehicle
3. Complete the following forms 4. If drivable, take the car and title to your nearest Goodwill Retail Store.
5. If the car is not drivable, bring the title of the car to your nearest Goodwill Retail Store. Goodwill will tow your car at no cost to you (keys must stay with car and should be given to the towing company).
6. Once the vehicle has been sold at auction or donated to an individual, you will receive the required tax deduction documentation that meets IRS guidelines.
*January 1, 2005, the IRS issued changes to federal tax treatment of vehicle donations. The attached Vehicle Donation Fact Sheet will summarize changes to the laws.
