Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina fulfills its mission of helping people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work by providing job training and career services to people throughout South Carolina.  In 2007, Goodwill served over 12,300 people and placed over 780 into employment giving them an opportunity to become self-sufficient tax paying citizens.

Goodwill helps change lives through the power of work by equipping people with the skills and support necessary to face difficult challenges in getting and keeping a job.  Support services offered by Goodwill include:

    Goodwill also provides transitional employment assistance for people who experience barriers to employment, such as long-term welfare dependence, physical and mental disabilities, homelessness and histories of incarceration or substance abuse.

    JWOD is a uniqueFederal procurement initiative that generates employment and training opportunities for people who are blind or have other severe disabilities.  The JWOD Program is a public-private partnership that uses the tremendous purchasing power of the government to create jobs for Americans with Disabilities.
